Rip Up Your Stitch Video and East Coast Horizons!

August 26th, 2011

Much has been in the works during these heated, muggy summer nights. At the gorgeous, Victorian, historic The Old Church in SW Portland, we’ve begun shooting a video for ‘Rip Up Your Stitch’. In a less glamorous basement just down the street, we’ve been creating stop motion animation sequences to be in this video as well. We can’t wait for it all to be finished and ready to launch in time for an East Coast Tour with Copal come Oct 1st, including cities such as NY city, Providence, Brooklyn.
Check the calendar for dates- they are still in the works but all will be finalized soon.

Ps.. Portlanders! Eric Stern and I will be performing this Saturday 8/27 as part of Bellydance Uncorked at Vino Vixens- they even have cabaret and burlesque acts there-ooo!

Summer, Oh Summertime in Poland and Pacific NW!!

June 20th, 2011

In just about a week I’ll be crossing the Atlantic again to the country that holds the roots to my soul, Poland. The open fields with bright red poppies blooming have been calling me once again! There I will perform for the International Footbridge Builders Association dinner party along with my friends Olga Kwaitek on violin and Piotr Dziubek on accordion. Pedestrians and Bicyclists unite!

I’ll be heading out to Krakow for an outdoor performance in a special green space and to check out the Jewish Festival to partake in some midnight klezmer jams on cello. Perhaps I’ll bring along music of my own and Vagabond Opera’s to see what happens! The rest of the time there will be spent with my family in some distant remote corner on a peaceful lake or some hot springs! Finally a small break since I’ll be coming back to Vagabond Opera shows at Portland’s first Steampunk Convention, GearCon and possibly filming our video for the upcoming release of the new CD!  I’ll be performing solo shows August 12th in Seattle along with Eliza Rickmana and Bat Country and August 13 and 14th at Arts in The Forest in West Linn (Portland area)! A busy and beautiful summer it will be!

It’ll have two of my new songs- “Your Ancestors Call You” (or Open Your Ancestor Cage) and “I Want a Beard and Moustache”. Videos of live performances coming soon!

Portland EP Release Show Video!

March 21st, 2011

Mystified… is all I could think when I performed through half of my set in Portland on Friday February 25th. The connection with the listeners and viewers of the Portland community was incredible, electric and nearly overwhelming. Here is a video one of the audience members took of ‘Rip up your Stitch’ with John Vecchiarelli on drums, Todd Bayles on accordion, and the lovely Nagasita dancing away:
